Go ahead and judge me, but we all do it. I think the NY Times just did a big article about how electronic readers are making this aspect of book-loving change. BUT today, at my local Barnes and Noble (don't be mad, my areas last indie bookstore went out of business last year...heart breaking.) I picked up a book based on it's cover and it got me thinking about some of my all time favorites....
First, the above copy of Sylvia Plath always sits near my bed and I always, always, always want to pick up that blue book and read it again...

The Vonnegut "V" used to be one of my all time favorite things. It would be an easy way to identify if a cute boy was also smart, if he was reading ANY book with that "V" on it...I knew things would work out just fine.

I've never seen a Salinger cover I haven't loved. Maybe it's because I've never met a Salinger story I haven't loved.

I have an older printing of this that is "pocket sized" and the cover is a skyline at sunset. I think the cover I have would have pissed her off. I like to imagine her loving the above portrait.
That's all for now.
xoxo,
Kat
