It's Been a Long Cold Lonely Winter
Today all of the snow started to melt and I dressed in very bright colors and took the dog on a long walk in the park. I feel optimistic and excited about spring and new happenings.

Right on, Dolly
"The biggest heartaches in my life have all been because I wanted people to love me more than they were willing or able to. People are not perfect. They will sometimes take your love and give nothing back or, worse yet, use it against you. But they are still all there is. Loving one another is our only reason for being."

"But there are moments, walking, when I catch a glimpse of myself in the window glass,
say, the window of the corner video store, and I'm gripped by a cherishing so deep
for my own blowing hair, chapped face, and unbuttoned coat that I'm speechless:
I am living I remember you."

from: "What the Living Do"
I scrawled this bit of the poem in the bottom corner of an old journal in December of 2008. It popped into my head today.

Things I Have That I Don't Know What To Do With Now
1. The journal I stitched together out of old books
2. The mix tape I'd been mentally compiling all year and finally put together and made a cover for
3. The soft gray scarf I knitted for you
4. The big ink drawing of one of the broken houses we saw
5. Pet Sounds on vinyl

And Dance By the Light of the Moon...
"Let's go out in the fields and take off our shoes and walk through the grass. Then we can go up to the falls. It's beautiful up there in the moonlight, and there's a green pool up there, and we can, uh, s-swim in it. Then we can climb Mt. Bedford, and smell the pines and watch the sunrise against the peaks, and we'll stay up there the whole night, and everybody'll be talking and there'll be a terrific scandal!"
George Bailey, I'll love you till the day I die.
